Driving In The Winter
Learning Skid Control and Avoidance Techniques
Now you can learn skid control techniques at both low and very high speeds in complete safety. This half-day Skid Pan Course covers Skid Control and Avoidance Techniques and how to use Anti Lock Brakes in an emergency.
The Skid Control Sessions
The skid pan course is set out to replicate swerving and avoidance situations that could potentially instigate a skid when out on the road. Drivers will learn how to control a vehicle in a skid. This involves controlling both front end and rear end skids.
Skid Avoidance
Participants are also taught a technique of driving in slippery conditions which reduces the chances of a skid. Drivers will also learn how to master the use of ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) in an emergency. We set up a couple of avoidance exercises to demonstrate just what these systems are capable of.

We use only professional motorsport instructors for all our corporate skid control courses. Our on-track instructing team are all race or rally driving champions, giving you a level of expertise which translates into real benefits when teaching vehicle control skills.
The Right Training Vehicle For You
Our corporate skid control vehicles aren't simply adapted skid cars; instead we fit lower grip tyres to a
normal family hatchback. This means that our car will handle in the same way as a normal vehicle, allowing drivers to develop skills that can be applied in their own vehicles.
Choose Your Option
Training is available in front or rear wheel drive vehicles (please specify when booking). Most cars and light
vans are front wheel drive but ask if you're unsure and we will help you. If your company uses a certain
type of vehicle, for example a van or off road 4x4, specific tuition for this type of vehicle will be available.
Training can be supplied for groups of 1 - 16 employees. For group sizes of 8 or more the day is
"exclusive" to your organisation with no other clients present.
Duration and Location
This course is only available at our Driver Dynamics Centre near York and runs for 3 hours. A hot lunch is
provided for all participants.
